 Sri Lanka Television Training Institute came into being in 1984 as a project of Sri Lanka Foundation and is the sole institution in Sri Lanka comprehensively equipped and staffed to conduct professional training in electronic media. It is an independent educational training centre recognized at the national and as international levels and conducts regular and short-term intensive courses as well as those organized on request by institutions or individuals. SLTTI has the advantage of being independent thus cater to all who have the necessary qualifications to apply for training. Participants from abroad may also apply. | Experienced Training Staff | The pool o f trainers o f SLTTI consists o f senior media personnel who are professionals of the field, with many years experience.
| | Basic & Specialized Courses | SLTTI provides basic level training in TV & Radio and intermediate level training in specialised areas to upgrade know-how on aspects of programming & production, news, editing, technical operations & engineering. Workshops on the principles of film art are also conducted.
| | Hands on Skills Development | Emphasis is placed on imparting hands-on experience on high-quality professional and broadcast equipment. Wellthought-out audio-visual aids are also exclusively and extensively used to impart knowledge on aesthetic stanards.
| | Participants | SLTTI courses and orientation workshops cater to directors, producers, scriptwriters, journalists, cameramen, vision mixers, editors, presenters, actors/actresses, computer-graphics artists, engineers, technical & maintenance staff and broadcast managers. New comers to the field are also trained at SLTTI. | | Regional Training Venue | SLTTI's comprehensive range o f training facilities and access to foreign expertise has brought it recognition from the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcast Development (A1BD) in Kuala Lumpur and the Japan international Cooperation Agency (J1CA).
